UPSETTING

I just got done deleting a whole post about my feelings toward the overturning of Prop 8, with these thoughts...
-I don't want to offend anybody
-But my views shouldn't offend anybody
-But how I deliver them might
-Who might ever find any sort of value in what I write on this blog
-My children
-What would Jesus do
-His beliefs were never a secret, neither was his love for every one.
-I want my children to know that I don't keep what I believe a secret, be it through a forum as small as this blog, because I was scared of being ridiculed or unpopular.

So I say with all the love I can in a straightforward manner: I am sad that Proposition 8 was overturned. I believe marriage to be between a man and a woman and I feel heartbroken to be living in a world that doesn't consider morals as a basis for making decisions anymore.

  1. I think this is a tough subject to know how to express, as well! Good for you for posting about it :)

  2. Excellent post. Its funny we don't want to offend, yet, others do not worry about the same thing.

More and more we are living in a world that believes there are no consquences for behavior, spiritual or physical.

  4. Amen. I believe everyone votes according to their morals, so overturning the popular vote because folks DID vote their morals is simply preposterous.

    Well stated, Jazz.

  5. Bless your little courageous heart. A friend and I were just talking about this subject today. We shouldn't be afraid to confidently and respectfully express our beliefs.

  6. I totally know exactly what you mean. It's a tough subject to talk about. I'm completely enraged about the whole thing right now because I VOTED! The majority has spoken & SHOULD rule!

No matter anyone's side on the matter, it's absolutely unconstitutional for a couple of stupid judges to overturn the decision of so many people. This is a democracy. Judges shouldn't have that kind of absolute power. California is all messed up (I still love that place anyway).
