A Few Firsts

  • We're taking Ryder camping for the first time this weekend. Wish us luck! I've very nervous about how he'll sleep in a tent and if he'll get too hot. If you have any good 'camping-with-baby tips' please let me know.
  • First time going private on my blog. I don't know if I like it. I feel like no body is out there. Hellloooo!!! [echo] [[echo]].
  • Ryder took his first steps a few weeks ago. We have a walker! I didn't know he'd progress this fast from a couple steps to clearing whole rooms. He walks with his hands in the air with a slight yell. Phil calls it his E.T. walk. The cutenosity level is off the charts.
  • I'm in the process of sewing my first apron. Yikes! I'll let you know how it goes.
  • This whole last week Ryder has slept every night (8 p.m. - 7 a.m.) with out a peep. We're hoping the consistency means it's here to stay!
  • I had another 'first' I was going to mention, but now I can't remember?? Owell, wouldn't be the first time! (mwah, mwah)

  1. We have camped with a baby. There goes the sleeping through the night idea. Good luck. I think one of us stayed in the tent until she was asleep while the other was with the older kids outside the tent.

  2. I cant wait to hear all about it when you get. Lets make a play date so we can visit!

  3. What has worked with us and I hope I am not to late for this tip. is if you have enough room in your tent, put up a pack and play, and let him sleep in that.

  4. Miss Jasmine...did you see the flock of young men around your child at church? Not to mention my daughter coming home and saying how CUTE! Ryder is? Good job producing the cutest baby! :) Good luck camping. Loads of fun (I was crazy and took Chrissy at 6 weeks with the rest...I don't recommend it :) ). He'll love it!

  5. Love the new blog background!! I'm still here dont you worry!! Enjoy your camping trip I'm excited to see how it went.

  6. I don't know what kind of car seat you have for Ryker, but if you have the infant one and he still fits put him back in that to sleep. Thats what we do with my baby (and that's even in our camping trailer). Because we know that he is safe and either warm or cool, depending on the temperature and the blankets that we put on him. And it doesn't take up as much space as a pack and play. Be prepared for a rough first night. For Hayden there were too many new things going on and He thought that he needed to stay awake so he wouldn't miss anything.
