IPOD ILLITERATE

So, Santa was sweet and now, I'm finally the owner of an Ipod Nano. My first one. A little late to the show, but here I am! I mean I knew I wanted one, but I don't think I knew how much until I got it in my little paws. Since I've been out of town I just downloaded a few things on other people's computers to get me going, but haven't really had the time yet to get my personal collection on there. I've also heard something about how you can either "manage manually" or just sync up with one computer that adds stuff automatically. Anyhow, point being, I'm a little confused and I'm wondering what you Ipod users have found to be the best way of sync-ing things up? Or if you have any tips, insights in general that you've found to be helpful, please pass those along as well. Oh, she's yellow. In case you were wondering.

  1. Um, hello. Who is one of your most favorite people who just happens to own 3 iPods???? I'll come over and can show you some things, if you want. I do mine on just the one computer and I don't manage manually -- I just let it sync automatically. I do "uncheck" my Christmas music in my music library so it stays on my computer but doesn't go on the iPod until it's time...just try to stay tidy. ;) Anyway, we'll chat.

  2. It depends on whether you have more music than would fit on your ipod or not. If you have enough space on your ipod to fit all your music, my personal preference would be to sync it automatically. If you will have to pick and choose to make it fit, then I would do it manually. With my shuffle I just have a playlist that is my "shuffle" playlist that I put stuff on whenever I want to change things up and I'll just sync the shuffle with my shuffle playlist rather than my entire itunes. Congrats on the new yellow beauty!

  4. Hip, Hip, Hooray for Yellow! If I were to get a new iPod, it would be the yellow one.

I like to have a few smart playlists (like the most recent 500 MB) then add to with some of my all time favorites, or music that I'm craving. My husband does it all automatically. Good luck!!
